ARGILE
GBC will leverage its multidisciplinary research strengths in the creation of ARGILE, a “Living Lab” for Building Construction, Restoration, Energy Efficiency, Product Testing and the Development of Innovative Environmental Building Solutions, all with a focus on Sustainability and in collaboration with Industry. This project is slated to last five (5) years beginning in 2010 and ending in 2015. The main focus is to research and develop a new system of materials and methods for the re-cladding of vintage masonry buildings, to improve energy efficiency, comfort and durability. In order to achieve this goal, ARGILE team has been actively participating in various sub-projects with a wide range of industry partners to develop and test different configurations of exterior insulation and cladding systems.
