Product Development & Sensory Evaluation for Frozen Smoothies

Whole Living Revolution

Whole Living Revolution (Whole Living) is a Toronto-based start-up company that is looking to develop a line of frozen smoothie blends. The products are developed using a mix of fruits and vegetables, juices, and herbs, designed to appeal to the emergent demographic of young, urban and ultimately health conscious consumers who are looking for a healthy product which is quick to consume for adults and children.

George Brown College’s Food Innovation & Research Studio (FIRSt) is collaborating with Whole Living to produce three prototypes. Whole Living requires assistance from FIRSt to develop new formulations, which will be part of three (3) new individual frozen smoothie freezie blend flavours. Principal Investigator, Susan Plummer, B.Sc., Research Food Scientist, FIRSt, will use her extensive industry experience to complete this project, while working with a student from George Brown College’s Culinary Arts program.
