Sensor suite and device integration for Cisco’s IP Phone

Cisco Systems Inc.

Cisco Systems Inc. is a multinational corporation headquartered in San Jose (with offices in Toronto, ON) that designs, manufactures, sells and services IP-based networking and communications technology. Cisco and George Brown College are collaborating to build an attachment to Cisco’s IP phone for a suite of room sensors, which can be monitored using the phone’s digital interface. This project will serve as a proof-of-concept for the attachment, which Cisco will potentially further develop to market as an external device or fully integrated unit. The project will result in a completed external sensor suite with an enclosure, as well as a findings report based on the team’s experiences working with the IP phone and room sensors. Principal Investigator: Leo Salemi
