Windgineered Technologies Inc.: Three Tiered Vertical Axis Wind Turbine Testing

Windgineered Technologies Inc.

Windgineered Technologies Inc. (Windgineered) is a Canadian company located in Orangeville, Ontario. The company’s core business is to provide, manage, facilitate, and report research initiatives to the intellectual property owning clients. The research involved is focused on the industries of renewable energy, potable water, and hydroponic aquaculture. Windgineered has already worked with George Brown College (GBC) in the past testing commercially available wind turbines against the innovative designed vertical axis wind turbine system (VAWT).

In addition to its current collaboration with GBC, which is to test and provide recommendations to improve the original VAWT, Windgineered is interested to work with GBC again to evaluate the performance of a three tiered VAWT. With the possibility to be utilized by industrial rooftops, commercial/residential high rise buildings, and wind farms, the three tired VAWT is to, at minimum, treble power generation from the same ground footprint. Collaborating with the Centre for Construction and Engineering Technology (CCET) at GBC, Windgineered is hoping to obtain a proof of concept prototype, as well as testing results to recommend offset angle and clustering distance that supports optimal efficiency.
