Hospital Watch Live Hand Hygiene Compliance Module
Development of a Smart Hand Gel Dispenser for Hospital Watch Live
Every year 250,000 Canadians suffer from Hospital-Acquired Infections, also known as “superbugs.” Of these, 8,000-12,000 die. We know that one of the most effective measures to slow the spread of these superbugs is also the simplest: good hand hygiene. Yet, hand-hygiene compliance rates in hospitals are as low as 40%.
City of Toronto & Toronto Centre for the Arts Main Stage Reconfiguration Project
Gilliam Group Inc. (Gillam) is a Toronto based construction company that has partnered with the City of Toronto to create two theaters at 5040 Yonge Street; the Lyric and Stage Tower Theater. Gillam will need to build three overhead catwalks in the Lyric without interfering with the existing electrical, plumbing, or structural elements concealed in the bowl and canoe shaped attic.
Redesigning Life in the Inner Suburbs
The popular view of Toronto defines the city by its downtown core, defined in contrast to the self-contained 905 outer suburbs. But this binary ignores Toronto’s inner suburbs, the fastest growing portion of the city and home to much of its aging population, newly landed citizens, and some of its poorest residents, resulting in a neighbourhood infrastructure that is in decline.
