Prototype of an Electrathon Race Car
Electric vehicles are becoming more prevalent as the need for green and eco-friendly vehicles increases. The project team, with advisor, Professor Jamie McIntyre, will take on the challenge of creating an electrathon (electric) race car. As part of their final year engineering project, the student team will collaborate with Inertia Engineering and Design to design the electrathon car using CAD tools.
Multipurpose Desktop Prototyping System
As part of their final year project design course, a team of Mechanical Engineering students will design and build a prototype for a multipurpose desktop prototyping system for industrial design partner Ross and Doell. The goal of the project is to create a machine that is numerically controlled and capable of producing complex prototypes by combining a variety of different materials.
Eco-Friendly Solar Water Pump
The goal of this project with industrial partner Pluvio Pump is to build upon the work completed last year in a OCE Connections project in creating a portable water pump for developing countries. This year the project team will look at a more affordable and eco-friendly means of pumping water from the ground using an easy and reliable method.
