Benchmarking and Validation of HeartTransverter at George Brown College

Butterfly Energetics Inc.(BEI) is a systems integration company with a focus on sustainable renewable energy solutions. The initial focus of collaboration between George Brown College (GBC) and BEI was on the Heart Transverter (HT). The HT removes the current limitation of renewable energy connections on the electrical grid from instabilities caused by solar and wind energy sources.

Implementation, field-testing, and demonstration of Low Voltage Flat Panel (LVFP) LED Lighting

The objective of this project is to implement and test a prototype system that will demonstrate the benefits of utilizing Low Voltage Flat Panel (LVFP) LED lighting (Redwood Lighting System) over the conventional fluorescent lighting systems found in most commercial/institutional buildings. This project partners with Convergineering the official Canadian dealership of Redwood Lighting Systems.

Data Collection for Heat Preservation Series (HPS) HeatShield Performance Verification

eTime Energy is a Toronto based company that specializes in heat preservation coatings which can be used on windows. These coatings, or paints are chemically altered using a nanotechnology giving them properties that reflect and block heat without sacrificing on aesthetics or safety.

Smart Connected Office Cubicles: Optimizing HVAC Energy Consumption

Camino Modular Systems and GBC are collaborating on a project to reduce energy consumption in an office environment by controlling the temperature and air quality at a specific cubicle instead of the entire office space. By monitoring cubicle occupancy and user preferences, the right amount of heating/cooling energy can be controlled to create a comfortable environment
